Altra Aluminium Die Cast

Altra Industrial Motion Corp., contacted MaintainIT TV to produce a video to promote the capabilities of an aluminium die casting plant recently acquired by the business.

The MaintainIT TV film crew travelled to the plant in Italy, to take a wide range of shots of the die casting process in action. This was particularly challenging as die casting involves large amounts of liquid aluminium, so safety precautions were taken when capturing footage in close proximity to equipment.

Over a day, MaintainIT TV was able to document the process from initial casting right through to quality testing.

In the post production process, footage was combined with motion graphics to show every stage of the die casting process, incorporating design, melting, pressing, automated handling, precision machining and quality control. The final result was a streamlined, engaging video that displays all aspects of the facility’s capabilities.
